Allegheny College Athletics

Suzanne Helfant was a three-time, first team All-NCAC selection in basketball and the 1987-88 NCAC Player of the Year.  The feisty point guard holds the NCAC and Allegheny career assist record with 601, and currently ranks seventh on Allegheny’s career scoring list with 1,069 points.  Even more impressive were the accomplishments of the teams she led.  Over her career, the Gators earned four conference championships and three trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament.  Allegheny’s record with her in the lineup was an amazing 94-15 overall and 46-2 in the NCAC.  She also was a starter in softball and played on four NCAA playoff teams in that sport.
