Allegheny College Athletics

The 1988 softball team represents one of the best squads in Allegheny history. They recorded a mark of 40 wins, which still stands as the school record, to just five losses. This team advanced to the NCAA tournament, finishing second in the nation. On their way to the national tournament, this squad claimed the Central Region Championship and the Ohio Northern University Tournament Championship. The squad also had three All-Americans on the roster and their head coach was named the NCAA Division III Coach of they Year.
