Easily one of the greatest offensive players in Allegheny lore, Shane Ream was a mainstay among the nation’s scoring and rushing leaders during his four years donning the Blue and Gold.

A two-time Division III All-American and three-time NCAC All-Conference pick, Ream boasts more individual records than any other player in Allegheny’s storied grid program.

After scoring 20 touchdowns during his first two seasons, Ream blossomed into one of the nation’s most electric backs as a junior.  He led the NCAC in scoring, rushing, and touchdowns that season, while also serving as the NCAA Division III scoring leader with 27 touchdowns. He averaged 163.6 yards per game (1,636) while leading the Gators to a first-place league finish. The following season, he once again ranked among the national leaders in scoring and rushing en route to Football Gazette/News First Team All-America accolades.

Following his senior season, Ream was named the 2002 Allegheny College Male Athlete of the Year.

Ream, who was a four-year starter and 2001 team captain, holds five single-season program records (scoring, rushing yards, rushing attempts, rushing touchdowns, all-purpose yards) and four career records (scoring, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, all-purpose yards).
Ream currently teaches social studies at Saegertown High School.
