James "Jimmy" Johnson '60 was described as a fierce competitor, and was well respected by his fellow players, while playing through some "lean years of basketball." In the '58-'59 season, Johnson's PAC top scoring average was 22.6 PPG. He also broke the Allegheny scoring record twice in a season, with his individual high of 53 points. A well rounded Economics major and Phi Gamma Delta member, Jimmy Johnston was also a half-back in football from '57 until '60.
