Stover outstandingly performed on the football gridiron for the Gators from 1965 until he graduated in 1969.  Stover’s many honors during his four-year stint with the Gators are as follows: Four-year letterman, All-PAC in 1966, 1967, and 1968, All-District team, Pittsburgh Press (1968), included in the 1969 edition of Outstanding College Athletes of America, and named  “Outstanding Football Player” for the 1968 season.

 

After his stay at Allegheny, Stover went on to excel in the defense of this nation in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a missile launch officer from 1969 to 1973, an instructor from 1970 to 1973, and received the 15th Air Force Crew Member Excellence Award in 1973.  After serving his country, Stover was an IBM representative from 1973 to 1976.  He was then a funeral director in the Pittsburgh area and was past President of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association.
