YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team garnered a trio of silver medals at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships on Thursday at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
Senior
Cole Jooste (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair), junior
Grant Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney), and sophomore
Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) each earned a runner-up finish at this year's championship meet.
On the track, Jooste participated in three events. He was one of three runners battling down the final stretch in the mile and crossed the finish line in second place. Jooste was clocked at 4:25.38, 0.25 seconds behind Will Stickman of Saint Vincent College and a mere 0.03 seconds ahead of Stickman's teammate, Jordan Raynor. Jooste also was eighth in the 800-meter run (2:00.12) and helped the 4x400-meter relay team place sixth.
Miller set a personal record en route to a silver medal in the pole vault. He cleared his previous indoor PR of 4.40 meters on his first attempt, then surpassed both 4.55 and 4.60 meters on his second try. Miller's PR mark ranks third in Allegheny indoor history.
Anderson, who was among the top five in both throwing events, added another PR. He was the runner-up in the shot put at 14.68 meters, trailing only Waynesburg University's Jacob Harker (15.34 meters). Anderson's mark also ranks as the third-best in team history in his respective event, as the second-year hurler surpassed Frank Tupta '07 by a mere centimeter for the No. 3 spot.
Third-year sprinter
Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) managed to break a school record in the 400-meter dash. Stewart finished in fifth place with a time of 49.07 seconds, narrowly breaking the record held by former North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Sprinter of the Year Taylor Throckmorton '12 (49.09 seconds).
As a team, the Gators tied Saint Vincent for seventh place with 47 points. Geneva College captured the title with a total of 113 points, followed by Grove City College with 94 and Westminster College with 87.
