MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team concluded the two-day Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships in fifth place following the second day of action on Friday at West Virginia University's Mylan Park.
The Gators were fifth in the 12-team league with 72 total points, 15 ahead of Hiram College in sixth place and 20 more than Bethany College in seventh. The Golden Tornadoes of Geneva College collected the team championship with 145 points, followed by Grove City College (137), Westminster College (108), and Washington and Jefferson College (80).
Of the team's four top-three finishes, three came from
Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) in the throwing events. After competing in the javelin on Thursday, the sophomore was the runner-up in the hammer and discus, and was third in the shot put. He scored a personal record in the discus at 42.78 meters, while he earned silver in the hammer at 44.10 meters. In the shot put, Anderson reached 13.78 meters on his fifth attempt to solidify a third-place showing.
The PAC rewarded Anderson for his efforts, as he was crowned the PAC's Field Athlete of the Year for the 2026 outdoor season.
Fellow sophomore
Jordan Anderson (Attica, N.Y./Attica) – no relation to Andre – was Allegheny's other All-PAC athlete. He was third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.17 seconds, a mere two-hundredths of a second shy of his previous PR. Anderson also ran the opening lap on the fifth-place 4x400-meter relay team and was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.44 seconds.
Freshman
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver), who won the steeplechase on Thursday, ran twice during the final day of competition. He earned another PR in the 1,500-meter run by crossing the finish line in 4:05.66, good enough for sixth place.Â
