COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Members of the Allegheny track and field teams competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships, hosted by Ursinus College.
Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills),
Evie Ellenberger's (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair),
Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills),
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central),
Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area),
Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) and
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) represented the women's team while
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) and
Jonah Wells (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Township) represented the men's team.
The highlight of the event was Ellenberger's performance in the long jump. The sophomore won the event with a leap of 5.88 meters. The jump marked the ninth best of the year in Division III, and improved upon her program record by .06 meters.
Ellenberger also competed in the 4x100 meter relay alongside Helvy-Bruce, Snyder and Tetlow. The quartet finished 14th with a time of 48.60 seconds.
The Gators had a pair of athletes compete in the women's javelin. Lubold placed eighth in the event with a throw of 35.27 meters. Bawek was 16th with a distance of 33.28 meters.
Bawek also competed in the shot put, placing 11th with a best toss of 12.25 meters.
Inkley qualified for the pole vault, taking 11th after clearing 3.48 meters.
For the men, Biss competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The first year runner finished eighth in the event with a time of 9:42.74.
Wells represented the Gators in the men's javelin, taking 27th with a throw of 43.61 meters.
