MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Freshman
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) captured the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, highlighting the first day of the 2026 PAC Outdoor Championships for the Allegheny College men's track and field team.
Biss and Ethan Haring of Geneva College battled it out for the right to finish atop the podium in the steeplechase. Haring led for most of the race, although his advantage was a mere fraction of a second. After trailing by a step for more than 2,000 meters, Biss made his move sprinted ahead of his Golden Tornado counterpart before the final lap. He led by four seconds at the 2,600-meter mark and finished with a 10-second lead, clocking in at 9:35.80.
In the pole vault, junior
Grant Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney Area) was one of three jumpers to surpass a meet-best 4.24 meters. However, Miller was awarded bronze since it took him three attempts to successfully clear that height, while Grove City College's Tucker Owens and Michael Chambers did so on their first try.
Senior
Jonah Wells (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Township) and sophomore
Cozmo Gallegos (Chino, Calif./Chino) both earned top 10 finishes in the field events. Wells placed sixth in the javelin at 48.33 meters, while Gallegos was sixth in the triple jump at 12.89 meters.
 Second-year hurdler
Jordan Anderson (Attica, N.Y./Attica) qualified for Friday's finals in the 110-meter hurdles. He took sixth in the prelims with a time of 16.34 seconds.
Through five scored events at West Virginia University's Mylan Park, Allegheny ranks fourth as a team with 25 points. Grove City is first in the standings with 66.5 points, followed by Geneva College with 54.5. Washington and Jefferson College has a narrow lead over the Gators for third place with 27 points.
