WARREN, Ohio -- Six members of the Allegheny College men's track and field team participated in Saturday's WGH PAC Tune-Up, the final meet of the indoor season before next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships.
Those who did not compete on Friday at Penn State University or the University of Mount Union traveled to Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio, to compete against conference foes from Chatham University, Franciscan University, Geneva College, Grove City College, Hiram College, and Westminster College.
Sha'Mar Nguyen (Converse, Texas/Judson) and
Otis Thomas (Solon, Ohio/Solon) both ran the 60-meter dash. Nguyen missed the cut for the final heat by fractions of a second. He was clocked at 7.366 seconds, just three thousandths of a second behind Johnny Ruggles of Grove City, who earned the sixth and final spot in the finals. Nguyen also placed 18th out of 26 in the 200-meter dash in 24.90 seconds.
In the 800-meter mid-distance race,
Oliver Schneider (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) and
Ethan Palmer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) placed 10th and 11th, respectively. Schneider was less than a second shy of a personal record, which they earned last week at the 2026 SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games.
In the men's mile,
Max Bambeck (Dover, Ohio/Dover) came in eighth place in 5:11.28, a mere 0.19 seconds ahead of teammate
Rayden Long (Ernest, Pa./Marion Center Area). Long's time of 5:11.47 was a PR, as he shaved 0.38 seconds off his time from SPIRE.
