Smith Named NCAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week

NCAC Release

CLEVELAND --
Allegheny College's Caroline Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) was recognized by the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) on Wednesday as the first NCAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week for the 2025 season.

Smith totaled six points in the first two games of the year, a 2-1 overtime loss at SUNY Brockport and a 5-0 victory over Juniata College. She paced the offense with six points on two goals and two assists. After scoring the lone goal in the narrow setback to Brockport, Smith tied her single-game career high with four points in the lopsided win over Juniata. She assisted on the first two goals of the game before scoring in the 33rd minute, as the Gators exploded for their highest-scoring game since 2022.

The Colorado Springs, Colorado, native is the third Allegheny student-athlete to earn NCAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week honors and the first since goalie Hallie Reiger '23 received back-to-back awards in September 2022.

The Gators host Roanoke College in their 2025 home opener on Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m. at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
