MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's cross country team hosted the Ben Mourer '07 Classic on Saturday (Sept. 20) in Meadville.
 
The annual Allegheny cross country invitational was renamed to the Ben Mourer '07 Classic this year in honor of the late Gator head coach. The meet also served as a preview to the 2025 Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship, which will be held in Meadville on Nov. 1.
 
As a team, the Gators placed sixth in the 12 team field with a score of 150. Division II Slippery Rock won the team title with a score of 39. 
 
Former Allegheny runner Chloe Bonson '25, running unattached, won the individual title, besting the field of 158 runners with a 6k time of 22:49.
 
Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) had the top Allegheny finish, taking 12th with a time of 25:05. 
 
Samantha Oakes (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) was second on the team, taking 27th with a time of 26:26. Gabriella Palmer (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) was not far behind, placing 29th with a time of 26:30.
 
Sophia Shiroff (Denver, Colo./Denver East) placed 35th (26:49) while Lilly Larkin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) was 47th (27:22). Anne Weis (Granville, Ohio/Granville) finished 55th while Sophia Rader (Falls Church, Va./George C. Marshall) rounded out the Gator runners with a time of 29:55.
