GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Allegheny College women's cross country team competed at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational 6k Saturday (Oct. 18), hosted by Gettysburg College.
The Gators finished the 33-team event, which featured schools from each NCAA division, in 11th place with a score of 333. Allegheny was fifth among Division III teams, trailing only Gettysburg (117), Franklin and Marshall College (176), Nazareth University (219), and the University of Scranton (273).
Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) had the top finish for the Gators. In the field of 300 runners, she took 38th with a time of 23:17.30, only about two seconds shy of her personal best.
Gabriella Palmer (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) was second on the team as she finished in 48th with a time of 23:32.10, a personal best.
Samantha Oakes (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) placed 84th with a personal best time of 24:31.00.
Lilly Larkin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) was not far behind Oakes, also running a personal best time of 24:36.80 to finish 88th.
Sophia Shiroff (Denver, Colo./Denver East) ended the race in 122nd with a time of 25:15.40, rounding out the top-five runners.
Anne Weis (Granville, Ohio/Granville) placed 114th with a personal best time of 25:42.10 while
Sophia Rader (Falls Church, Va./George C. Marshall) rounded out the Gator lineup in 181st with a personal best time of 26:35.40.
