MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Pack running helped the Allegheny College women's cross country team finish second at the Ben Mourer '07 Memorial Classic at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Saturday. 

A quartet of Gators finished in consecutive order, led by Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) in eighth place out of 32 total runners. Rulander crossed the finish line in 26:49.5 in her first six-kilometer race of the season.

Following Rulander in back-to-back-to-back places were Sophia Shiroff (Denver, Colo./Denver East), Gabriella Palmer (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley), and Madison McGarrah (Butler, Pa./Butler). The Gator trio was separated by about three seconds, with Shiroff finishing in 27:08.3, Palmer in 27:10.5, and McGarrah in 27:11.4.

As a team, Allegheny was second with 46 points. Chatham University, a fellow Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) institution, was also in attendance, but didn't have enough finishers to post a team score.
