CANFIELD, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's cross country team placed two in the top 20 and finished sixth at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships, held Saturday morning at Youngstown State University's Gorby Family Championship Cross Country Course.
As a team, the Gators came in sixth with 117 total points. Allegheny trailed fifth-place Geneva College (108) by just nine points and fourth-place Saint Vincent College (104) by 13. The AC women held a large lead over the next team in the standings, seventh-place Waynesburg University (192).
Grove City College, which was voted No. 1 in the pre-championship poll on Thursday, took home the 2026 title with 48 points.
Two Gators posted top-20 finishes and earned All-PAC honors. Sophomore
Gabriella Palmer (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) was the first Allegheny runner to navigate the six-kilometer course. She placed ninth overall - seventh among championship-eligible competitors - with a time of 23:26.76. It marked a significant improvement for Palmer at the PAC Championships; last year, she came in 27th. Palmer earned a spot on the All-PAC First Team for her strong performance.
Senior
Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) made the All-PAC Second Team after being named an honorable mention in each of the last two years. She completed Saturday's championship in 23:54.82, good enough for a 17th-place performance.
