NCAC release
CLEVELAND -- The Allegheny College field hockey team placed eight student-athletes on the 2024-25 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Formerly known as the NCAC Academic Honor Roll, the conference recently renamed the award in honor of Dr. Gordon Collins, a professor of psychology and volunteer track and field coach at The College of Wooster from 1963 to 2000. Dr. Collins played a key role in the establishment of the NCAC in the early 1980s as one of the league's founding faculty athletics representatives. The Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll will continue to recognize student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher while competing on a varsity team at an NCAC institution.
Representing the Gators on this year's list were
Bella Cowen (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day School),
Eva Cucinell (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster),
Taylor Fordyce (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield),
Emily Jackson (Oreland, Pa./Springfield Township),
Maddy Keenan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Trafford),
Cora Miranda (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville East),
Samantha Mura (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit), and
Emily Robles (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington Township). Cowen, Fordyce, and Robles were each included for the second time in as many years.
In total, the NCAC set a new record with 1,341 honorees across nine full-time member institutions and four affiliates.
