ALLIANCE, Ohio -- For the second year in a row, Allegheny College's
Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) put herself in a position to earn a bid into the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships at the University of Mount Union's Last Chance Meet.
One of five Gators to participate at Mount Union, Lubold finished second in the javelin throw at 41.29 meters. Not only is it her best mark of the season, but it's also the second-best of her career. At last year's Mount Union Last Chance Meet, Lubold set a personal record at 42.07 meters.
The third-year javelin thrower, who qualified for the NCAA Championships last spring, moved into position to punch another ticket to the national championship meet. Lubold moved into a three-way tie for 18th place on the Division III leaderboard. The top 22 declared athletes in each event will be selected to compete in the 2025 NCAA Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Senior
Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) also logged a runner-up performance at Mount Union. Her last attempt in the hammer throw reached 51.10 meters, trailing only Elizabeth Rice of Division I Oakland University.
