MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team welcomed a dozen teams from around the region to the annual Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational on Friday at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

Competition on Friday not only included several Division III teams from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), but also D-I programs from Duquesne University and Mercyhurst University, and D-II teams from PennWest Edinboro, Lake Erie College, Seton Hill University, and Slippery Rock University.

The highlight of the track events came in the 4x100-meter relay. For the second time this season, the Gators broke the program record in the event. The quartet of Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills), Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), and Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) beat four other teams with a time of 48.33 seconds. Their time was two-tenths of a second better than their performance from Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Invitational and 1.46 seconds ahead of the runners-up from Seton Hill.

Tetlow, one of three Allegheny seniors recognized during the meet, also had the top individual finish on the track in the 400-meter hurdles. She placed third overall in 1:07.44, just 0.12 seconds shy of second place and 0.20 seconds off of her personal record. 

Ellenberger and Snyder had a busy afternoon outside of the record-setting relay, too. Ellenberger was the runner-up in the long jump (5.67 meters) and placed fifth in the 100-meter dash prelims (12.60 seconds). Snyder added top-10 finishes in the triple jump (sixth, 10.50 meters) and the long jump (seventh, 5.13 meters).
