MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team opened the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships Thursday at West Virginia University's Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park with two individual titles.
Despite multiple rain delays, the Gators managed to grab conference championships in both the pole vault and triple jump.
For the second year in a row, sophomore
Grant Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney Area) finished atop the podium in the pole vault with yet another personal-record performance. Miller passed on every height until 4.20 meters, which he cleared on his first attempt. He then broke his previous PR of 4.51 meters by surpassing 4.57 meters on his first try.Â
Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) also PR'd in the pole vault and finished second in the event. In only his second attempt at the pole vault during the outdoor season, the senior standout cleared 4.05 meters on his first jump. Moon also hit a personal record en route to a first-place performance in the triple jump. Sitting in third place with one jump remaining, he reached 13.86 meters, 32 centimeters more than his previous outdoor best and 11 centimeters better than his mark from this year's PAC Indoor Championships.
Moon also hit two PRs in the 100-meter and 110-meter hurdle prelims and qualified for Friday's finals in both races. His time of 15.77 seconds in the hurdles has him ranked first as the only runner to clock in under 16 seconds.
Junior
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) added another Allegheny personal record on Thursday. Freeman placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:00.38, nearly 28 seconds better than his time from last year's PAC Outdoor Championships.Â
