SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team collected numerous personal records at the John Papa Invitational, a one-day meet hosted by nearby Slippery Rock University on Thursday.
Allegheny earned one victory and more than a dozen top-five finishes in the second meet of the season held at SRU.
Standout junior
Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) continued her incredible season with another first-place performance. Bonson won the 1,500-meter run in 4:40.70, beating teammate
Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) by less than a second. It's the second time Bonson set a new PR in the 1,500-meter race this month. Stafford's runner-up effort was just shy of her PR by less than half a second.
Senior
Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora), who was third in the 400-meter dash, did so with a PR time of 1:00.44. She shaved 44-hundredths of a second off her previous best from the 2023 Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) cut more than a full second off her PR in the 800-meter run and placed fifth. Rulander was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team with Cocca,
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), and
Logan Wagner (Woodville, Ohio/Oak Harbor) which recorded the second-best time in the PAC this season at 4:11.32.
First-year jumper
Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) improved her standing with the second-best long jump in the conference. She added 12 centimeters to her previous PR and reached 5.46 meters on her longest attempt. In her first outdoor triple jump, Ellenberger added another PR at 10.41 meters, the fourth-best mark in the PAC.
Senior thrower
Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) didn't achieve a PR but moved atop the conference leaderboard for the 2025 season. Davis finished in third behind an athlete from Division II Lake Erie College and an unattached thrower from Penn State University at 51.77 meters.
