PITTSBURGH, Pa. --
The Allegheny College men's track and field team secured four top-10 finishes and a handful of personal records at the 2025 Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, hosted by the Tartans on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29.

Senior standout Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) earned two of Allegheny's top-10 performances, one on the track and one in the field. Moon was the fastest of five Gators who ran the 100-meter dash. He came in seventh place with at 11.07 seconds, a mere six centiseconds shy of his PR. In the long jump, Moon beat 42 other competitors and was the only jumper to surpass seven meters at 7.13 meters.

Third-year javelin specialist Jonah Wells (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Township) made his season debut in style on Saturday. For the first time in his career, Wells reached the 50-meter mark, posting a new PR at 52.31 meters on his second attempt. He was eighth out of 33 in the event, but had the third-best mark among Division III throwers.

Sophomore Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) also earned a top-10 finish in the 400-meter dash. Stewart, who came in sixth place, had the second-best time out of D-III sprinters in the event at 49.80 second. It's only the second time in his collegiate career that he was clocked with a sub-50-second time in the 400.
