TRAFFORD, Pa. – Alaina Sharp (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) of the Allegheny softball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for her performances in a pair of doubleheader sweeps last week.
 
Sharp helped the Gators go 4-0 for the week by hitting .583 with seven hits, six RBI and a pair of doubles while scoring four times.
 
In a nonconference twinbill at John Carroll, Sharp had a hit and RBI in each contest, doubling in the second game. In the Gators' PAC opener against Chatham, Sharp had two hits in the first game while scoring twice. In the second game, Sharo went three-for-three with four RBI and a run scored.
 
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (March 26) at Waynesburg.
