PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College women's cross country was tabbed second in the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released Friday along with a list of runners to watch for the fall season.
The Gators received two first-place votes and 88 total points in the poll, trailing only the defending PAC champions from Grove City College. The Wolverines led the conference with eight first-place votes and 96 points. Geneva College (77), Saint Vincent College (74), and Washington and Jefferson College (67) completed the top five.
Last fall, the Allegheny women had their run of two consecutive conference titles halted by the Wolverines. The Gators, who had won the 2021 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and 2022 PAC titles, finished second at the 2023 PAC Championships with 67 points, just six more than Grove City. Allegheny's five scoring runners earned All-PAC accolades for placing in the top 21.
Three of Allegheny's returning All-PAC harriers were included on the conference's list of runners to watch.
Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) was named to the All-PAC First Team as a junior, while classmates
Marrin Crist (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) and
Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) were both included on the All-PAC Second Team.
