Men's Lacrosse Wins Two Weekly Awards From PAC

PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. --
Two members of the Allegheny College men's lacrosse team earned awards on Monday, as Konrad Homiak (Hampstead, N.C./Topsail) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week and Anthony DeMarco (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) was crowned the PAC Specialist of the Week.

For Homiak, this week's award marks his second of the season, while DeMarco has claimed Specialist of the Week honors for the third time in as many weeks.

A long-stick midfielder, Homiak helped the Gators defeat Bethany College, 22-8, and Saint Vincent College, 15-12, to extend their PAC win streak. The junior totaled nine ground balls, five caused turnovers, and scored his first collegiate goal against the Bison. At Saint Vincent on Saturday night, Homiak caused a season-high four turnovers and picked up six ground balls.

DeMarco has solidified himself as one of the top faceoff men in the PAC with his third consecutive Specialist of the Week award. The junior won 73% of his faceoffs last week and picked up a team-leading 29 ground balls. DeMarco recorded 28 wins on 32 attempts (87.5%) and set a new Allegheny single-game record with 20 ground balls against Bethany. He then won 18 faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls in the victory over the Bearcats.

Allegheny returns home on Wednesday, April 17, to host Chatham University under the lights at Frank B. Fuhrer Field at 7:00 p.m.
