Rakis Leads Allegheny's Eight All-PAC Men's Lacrosse Selections

PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. --
Eight from the Allegheny College men's lacrosse team received All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) laurels for their performances during the 2025 campaign.

Allegheny placed one student-athlete on the All-PAC First Team and one on the All-PAC Second Team, while six Gators were included among the honorable mentions.

Star attackman JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) earned All-PAC First Team honors for the second year in a row after a record-setting junior season. Rakis established new team records for points (94) and assists (60) in a season. He not only leads the PAC in both categories, but also ranks first in Division III in assists per game (3.75) and fifth in points per game (5.88). Rakis had four games with double-digit points, including a 13-point effort with 11 assists in a 24-3 win over Elmira College on March 29 and a team record of 15 points (5g-10a) in a 24-2 victory versus Thiel on April 12.

Third-year defenseman Liam Kruck (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin) was voted to the All-PAC Second Team, the first year-end award of his career. In his second season as a starter, Kruck recorded career highs with 48 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers. He had a caused turnover in all but two games and a dozen games with multiple ground balls. Kruck picked up a season-high six ground balls with two caused turnovers in a 15-4 win against Hiram College on March 8.

Allegheny's All-PAC Honorable Mentions were Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg), Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton), Jared Swisher (Cumberland, Maine/Berwick Academy), Garin Stearns (Hudson, Ohio/Revere), Konrad Homiak (Hampstead, N.C./Topsail), and Anthony DeMarco (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls).

Cushwa, a senior attacker, was named an All-PAC Honorable Mention for the second consecutive season. He finished the spring tied for fourth in the PAC in goals per game with 2.88 and led all Gators with 49 goals, a new team record. Cushwa netted a season-high six goals with three assists in the victory against Thiel. He will graduate this spring as the team's all-time leader with 127 career goals. Cushwa earned additional accolades as Allegheny's PAC Sportsmanship Team representative. The PAC's Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.

Horsley ended his debut season with 31 points and 25 goals, both of which ranked third on the team. The first-year midfielder was also second in man-up goals (4) and game-winning goals (2). Horsley had eight multi-goal games, highlighted by a five-goal performance against the Soaring Eagles.

Another junior defender, Swisher, made 16 starts for the second straight season. He matched last year's total with 24 caused turnovers while setting a new career high with 31 ground balls. In the second game of the season on March 1 against Lycoming College, Swisher recorded career highs with six ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Allegheny's starting goalie, Stearns, was named an All-PAC Honorable Mention after earning a second-team award last spring. He led all qualified goaltenders in the PAC with a .551 save percentage, ranked third with a 10.31 goals-against average, and finished fourth with 10.47 saves per game. Stearns collected 19 saves in a 10-6 win against Alfred University on March 5 and in a close 11-9 loss at the University of Mount Union on March 19.
Homiak also repeated as an All-PAC Honorable Mention as a senior. The long-stick midfielder forced a team- and career-high 27 turnovers and was ninth in the PAC with 1.59 caused turnovers per game. Homiak caused four turnovers against Lycoming and Franciscan University, and he posted his first-ever multi-goal game with a long pole in a 17-7 triumph over Bethany College on April 23.

DeMarco earned honorable mention accolades for the second time in as many seasons as Allegheny's faceoff specialist. The senior won 60.5% of his faceoff attempts with 227 successful draws and a team-record 130 ground balls. DeMarco also had his most successful year offensively with five goals and three assists for eight points. In one of the most impressive faceoff performances in the country, DeMarco won all 30 attempts with 17 ground balls against Elmira.
