Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Regular Season Finale to Westminster

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Westminster, 13-5, in their regular season finale Wednesday night (April 22).

Westminster controlled the momentum in the first quarter as they outscored the Gators 4-0.

The Titan lead reached 6-0 before JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) got the Gators on the board with an unassisted goal. Minutes later, Rakis struck again as his second goal cut the deficit to 6-2. Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) kept the Allegheny run going as he scored unassisted with under two minutes remaining in the half. The Titans added a late goal as they took a 7-3 lead into the locker room.

In the third, Westminster added to their lead with three early goals. The Gators scored a pair of goals late in the frame. Jack Pearl (Ladera Ranch, Calif./JSerra Catholic) broke up the run with a transition goal assisted by JaMier Hopkins (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Edward). Quickly after that tally, Rakis assisted a Nathan Wheeler (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) goal to cut the lead to 10-5. However, Westminster scored in the final 30 seconds of the third to take a six-goal lead into the fourth.
