Second-Half Surge Leads Men's Lacrosse to 17-7 Win vs. Bethany

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's lacrosse team earned its fourth consecutive win on Wednesday night with a commanding 17-7 victory over Bethany College in the 2025 home finale at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

The Gators (8-8, 4-3 PAC) and Bison (7-9, 2-5 PAC) engaged in a very close contest into the early minutes of the third quarter. Each time Allegheny took the lead, the Bison responded and tied the score. AC led 4-3 at halftime, but Bethany's Tyler Britton knotted things up with the first goal of the second half.

However, the Gators found a surge of energy in the third quarter, turning a competitive matchup into a lopsided victory. Mikko Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Utah Military Academy), Tyler Rippole (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland), and Konrad Homiak (Hampstead, N.C./Topsail) netted three in a row in a span of 66 seconds, and Jason Spindel (Medina, Ohio/University Prep) made it four unanswered goals 70 seconds later.

After the Bison got one back, the Blue and Gold pieced together another goal-scoring flurry with four more in the last two minutes of the third quarter. Only 14 seconds separated the first two markers from Spindel and Homiak. After winning the next faceoff, Anthony DeMarco (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) needed only six seconds to put Allegheny on top 11-5. Action carried over into the fourth quarter as well; JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) scored the fifth of eight consecutive Allegheny goals just 18 seconds into the final period.
