PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College men's lacrosse won a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) weekly accolades after beating Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford last week.
Allegheny junior
Liam Kruck (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin) was recognized as the PAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season, while
Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) earned his second consecutive Newcomer of the Week honor.
Kruck led a Gator defense that was nearly impenetrable last week, allowing a mere 3.5 goals per game in a 12-3 victory over W&J and a 19-4 triumph at Pitt-Bradford. The 6-foot-6 defenseman had a team-high two caused turnovers with three ground balls against the Presidents. He then caused two more turnovers and collected one ground ball against the Panthers. So far this spring, Kruck has established new career-highs in both categories with 21 caused turnovers and 42 ground balls.
Horsley posted seven points (4g-3a) with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers last week. The first-year midfielder was tied for the team lead with three goals in the win at Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday. He then scored once with two assists, two caused turnovers, and four ground balls at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday. Horsley has been a key contributor on offense over the last three weeks, logging at least three points in each of his last four games with two hat tricks.
The Gators are set to host Bethany College in the 2025 regular-season home finale on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:00 p.m.
