MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a lopsided 19-3 victory over Washington and Jefferson College on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Frank B. Fuhrer '48 Field.
The Gators (5-7, 3-3 PAC) earned their second straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win in impressive fashion. Including Wednesday's win at Thiel College, the Blue and Gold have outscored their opponents 40-7 over their two contests.
Eight different players scored a goal for Allegheny, including a trio of four-goal performances from
Jack Pearl (Ladera Ranch, Calif./JSerra Catholic),
Nathan Wheeler (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake), and
Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton). Senior attackman
JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) dished out a game-high eight assists as part of a nine-point effort, while classmate
Griffin Cates (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) earned a hat trick.Â
Senior midfielder
Mikko Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Utah Military Academy) found the back of the net once and posted season-highs in faceoff wins (14) and ground balls (9). His tally came just eight seconds into the fourth quarter, as Horsley collected his own faceoff and quickly crashed towards the net for his third score of the year.

- Allegheny finished with more than twice as many shots as W&J, 56-to-25.
- The Gators grabbed 54 ground balls, while the Presidents collected 35.
- The AC offense scored three times on six extra-man opportunities, while W&J netted one on three tries.

- Before today's game, Liam Kruck (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin), Jason Eason (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake), Brandon Crawford (Martinsburg, W.Va./Spring Mills), Jared Swisher (Cumberland, Maine/Berwick Academy), Mikko Horsley, Rakis, Cates, and Stearns were recognized as part of the team's Senior Day festivities.
- Allegheny evened its PAC record at 3-3 following Saturday's victory over Washington and Jefferson.
- The Gators are 3-0 all-time against W&J, while the 19-3 win is their largest margin of victory over the Presidents.
- With nine points against W&J, Rakis is up to 257 career points with 121 goals and 136 assists.
