CLEVELAND --
The Allegheny College men's track and field team opened the 2024-25 indoor season at Case Western Reserve University's Spartan Alumni Meet at CWRU's Veale Convocation, Recreation, and Athletic Center on Saturday.

The reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track and Field MVP, Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock), started his senior campaign with another record-breaking performance. After setting both the indoor and outdoor long jump records last season, Moon broke his own indoor record once again on Saturday. Moon won the event with a mark of 7.02 meters, one-hundredth of a meter better than his mark from last year.

It was a busy day for Moon, who also placed eighth in the high jump (1.85 meters), eighth in the 60-meter hurdle finals (9.37 seconds), and 12th in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.20 seconds).

Second-year sprinter Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) also earned a top-10 finish on the track. He led a group of seven Gators who ran the 200-meter dash by placing eighth at 23.02 seconds. Stewart also placed 11th in the 400-meter dash at 53.17 seconds.

Junior Landon Schmader (Brockport, Pa./Brockway) was the only runner to complete the 500-meter dash at the event, finishing with a time of 1:21.50.

Freshman Cameron Sadler (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) paced Allegheny's throwers in the shot put and weight throw. In his first collegiate event, he earned a sixth-place finish in the weight throw, finishing behind a group of five from Baldwin Wallace University with a mark of 14.71 meters.
