TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Allegheny College junior Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) represented the Gators at the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Bonson, who was selected for the national race after placing eight at last week's Great Lakes Regional Championships, placed 159th out of 290 total runners with a time of 22:42.0.

A few inches of snow hit in western Indiana earlier this week created muddy conditions along the 6,000-meter course. Bonson took advantage of a quick decline at the first kilometer, reaching the first checkpoint in just 3:16.4. From there, the course elevation steadily increased. Bonson clocked in at 10:39.9 at the halfway mark and finished the last kilometer with a 4:01.8 split. 

Bonson, the first Gator to run at nationals since 2021, improved by leaps and bounds throughout her breakout junior season. She led the Gators in nearly every race this season, set new personal records, and was one of only three from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) selected for nationals.
