PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) of the Allegheny College women's cross country team was recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as a PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for September.

Each month, the SAAC groups at PAC member institutions are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Nominees must be varsity team members in their respective sports and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athlete of the Month nominees must also have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within their campus communities.

Bonson paced the Gators during each of their first two races of the 2024 campaign. At Saint Francis University's season-opening Father Bede Invitational, which included four Division I opponents and only two Division III teams, the junior was the third-fastest D-III runner and placed 28th overall. Her time in the four-kilometer race was 15:53.0. Bonson then led the Gators to victory at the Allegheny Classic on September 21, winning the three-mile race at 18:27.5.

A computer science and economics major, Bonson maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is both a Distinguished Alden Scholar and Doane Scholar and has been named to the PAC Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls for cross country and track and field. 

On Allegheny's campus, Bonson is a writing consultant. She is active in the community, dedicating her time to volunteering for various organizations, including the Westmoreland County Food Bank. Bonson is also a financial advisor database management employee at Darren Bonson and Associates.
