BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- For the first time since the fall of 2021, the Allegheny College women's cross country team competed in Lehigh University's Paul Short Run, held by the Mountain Hawks at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course on Saturday.

Four Gators compiled sub-24-minute times, and all four placed among the top 100 runners. 

Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) paced all Gators with a top-50 performance. The junior came in 45th place with a six-kilometer time of 23:59.7. Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) was a dozen spots behind, as the fellow junior was 57th in 24:16.9

In her hometown, Marrin Crist (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) was less than 10 seconds behind (24:26.8), and first-year Gator Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) came in 84th place at 24:42.5.

Although Allegheny and No. 35-ranked Widener University both had 362 points, the Pride won the tiebreaker for 13th place. The Paul Short Run featured a wide variety of opponents from Division II and III institutions.
