RALEIGH, N.C. -- Reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Field Athlete of the Week,
Jacob Boord (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), represented Allegheny College as the only Division III participant in the javelin throw at North Carolina State University's Raleigh Relays on Thursday morning.
After setting a facility and program record at West Virginia University's Stan Romanoski Open last week, Boord faced mostly Division I throwers at the Raleigh Relays. Among the handful of D-II athletes in attendance was the 2022 NCAA Division II national champion from Southern Connecticut State, Jordan Davis.
Although Davis came away with the win, Boord did more than hold his own at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility. He finished in the top half of the group, placing 15th with a distance of 59.24 meters on his third attempt.Â
