Cullinan Picks Up Another Win to Highlight Busy Weekend for Men's Track & Field

Akron Invitational Results | Jim Wuske Invitational Results

AKRON, Ohio, and ALLIANCE, Ohio --
Allegheny College men's track and field sent student-athletes to a pair of meets in the state of Ohio over the weekend, as the Gators were split between the 19th Annual Akron Invitational and the Jim Wuske Invitational at the University of Mount Union.

At the University of Akron's Stile Athletics Field House, Stephen Cullinan (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and Matt Reynolds (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) took part in the heptathlon. Cullinan outshone a trio of Division I multi athletes from the host Zips and Kent State for his second heptathlon win of the season. Reynolds, the only other Division III student-athlete to complete all seven events, was fifth.

Cullinan's 4,620 points set new school and personal records, while he established new PRs in the 60-meter dash (7.38 seconds), the shot put (11.67 meters), and the 1,000-meter race (2:51.37). Likewise, Reynolds produced PRs in the 60-meter dash (7.77 seconds), the 60-meter hurdles (10.72 seconds), and the long jump (5.42 meters).

In Alliance, Jacob King (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) set a new PR in the weight throw with a toss of 15.46 meters to place fifth. On the track, Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline) set an indoor personal record in the 800-meter run (2:16.49) and placed eighth in the one-mile race (4:38.63). Senior cross country runner Mac Polny (Robinson, Pa./Montour) made his debut on the track with a ninth-place performance in the 3,000-meter race (9:29.31).
