Thiessen, Wallace Earn NCAC 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team Honors

NCAC Release

CLEVELAND, Ohio --
Allegheny College women's soccer placed two former student-athletes on the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Women's Soccer 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team.

The 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team includes student-athletes who competed in the NCAC between the 2013-14 and 2022-23 seasons. Previous Player of the Year honorees, or those who earned a minimum of three All-NCAC First-Team nods during that span, were recognized.

In total, the NCAC honored 23 student-athletes on the 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team, including former Gators Jessie Thiessen '17 (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and Jaymee Wallace '15 (Bowdoin, Maine/Mt. Ararat).

Both Thiessen and Wallace helped the Allegheny women's soccer team reach the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2013 and 2014. The Gators won the NCAC Championship Tournament for the first time in 2013 and earned an at-large bid the following year as NCAC runners-up. During that two-year window, Allegheny posted a combined record of 26-13-1.

The 2013 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, Thiessen was a three-time All-NCAC First Team selection. The only year she wasn't chosen was 2015, when she was forced to sit out due to injury. Despite missing her entire junior season, Thiessen ranks sixth all-time in program history in points (79) and seventh in goals scored (29). As a freshman, she netted three of the four goals Allegheny scored en route to winning the NCAC Championship Tournament. In 60 career games, Thiessen scored 29 goals with 21 assists for 79 points and had 10 game-winning goals. A two-sport standout, she also received numerous awards as a member of the Allegheny women's lacrosse team. Thiessen earned Allegheny's Female Newcomer of the Year Award in 2013-14 and the Senior Achievement Award in 2016-17.

A two-time All-NCAC award winner, Wallace was voted the conference's Defensive Player of the Year in the fall of 2014. After battling through injuries early in her career, Wallace went on to start all 22 games as a midfielder and center back as a senior. That year, she contributed a career-high seven points and was second on the team with three assists. She also anchored a defensive unit that posted six consecutive shutouts to end the regular season and led the conference in goals-against average (0.91) and shutouts (12). Wallace was named the College's Female Senior Achievement Award winner for the 2014-15 academic year.
