SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny track and field teams kicked-off competition at the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Championships, hosted by Wittenberg, Friday (Feb. 25).
Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown),
Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley),
Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and
Sarah Maue (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) earned All-NCAC honors in the distance medley relay. The quartet finished the race in 12:45.41 to place third.
Lydia Giannini had the top individual finish for the Gators on day one, placing fourth in the weight throw with a heave of 15.64 meters.
Eva Kerr (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe) placed fifth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:53.64.
Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Pa./Mount Vernon) had the top finish for the men on day one. He finished runner-up in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:59.82, earning All-NCAC Honors.
Holden Ford (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) also scored points for the Gators as he placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.49 meters.
Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hills, Mass./Brookline), Kevin Long (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West), Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) and Meyer finished eighth in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:48.75.
The Gators conclude the competition Saturday (Feb. 26), with several runners qualified for the finals.
