NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team participated in two different meets at the University of Mount Union on Friday evening and Westminster College on Saturday afternoon.
Allegheny's throwers were the busiest of the bunch, as the Gators competed in the hammer and javelin on Friday at Mount Union's John Homon Open, before traveling to the Westminster Invitational on Saturday for the shot put and discus.
Junior
Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) entered three of the four events, highlighted by a victory in the javelin. Bawek and teammate
Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) finished one-two in the javelin, as the former reached 33.76 meters and the latter measured just centimeters behind at 33.43 meters. On Saturday, Bawek earned two top-10 finishes, placing fifth in the discus (35.68 meters) and seventh in the shot put (11.40 meters).
