ERIE, Pa.—The Allegheny College women's tennis team faced Case Western Reserve University in a nonconference dual Saturday (March 4) at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pa.
The Spartans picked up the win 9-0. Entering the day, the Spartans were ranked 18th nationally and fourth in the central region.
At first singles,
Gaby DeLeon fell against Kendal Holladay, ranked 24
th in the region, 6-1, 6-1.
At fourth singles,
Heidi Mueller had a battle against Katrin Gurvich. After falling in the opening set 6-2, Mueller bounced back with a 7-5 win in set three, sending the contest into a super tiebreaker for the third set. However, Gurvich came out victorious in the tiebreaker, 10-5, to clinch the match.
The Gators are back in action March 20 against Connecticut College in Hilton Head, S.C.
