MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team made easy work of the visiting Golden Eagles from PennWest Clarion with a 7-0 shutout victory on Thursday afternoon at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
Allegheny (15-5) dropped only 10 games to Division II Clarion (1-10), and only one of the nine matches played saw the Gators lose more than one game.
The Gators earned two clean sweeps; the tandem of
Anabel Bachman (Rogers, Ark. Bentonville) and
Jillian Clark (Butler, Pa./Butler) won their No. 3 doubles contest against Alana Jackson and Eliza Harrington, 6-0, while
Gabrielle Bassette (Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day School) cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Polia Vladeva in the No. 1 singles match.
