CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Allegheny women's tennis team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday evening to take on the Spartans of Case Western Reserve. In a battle of regionally ranked top 20 teams, No. 14 Case Western would get the better of No. 20 Allegheny, sweeping the Gators 9-0.

Despite the lopsided final, Allegheny was very competitive in the match, including a thriller in the number one doubles slot. Case's number one doubles tandem of Erika and Alex Lim, who are the number seven ranked duo in the region, were taken to the brink by sophomore Carolyn Shetter and senior Deborah Landau; however, they were just too much for the Allegheny pair as the Lim's would squeak out a 9-7 decision.  

The Gators will be off until Sunday, March 18 when they will travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina to take on Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the first match of their annual spring break trip.
