MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College women's lacrosse head coach Jessica Smith was named to the 2026-27 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Board of Directors.
 
Smith was elected to the board as one of the three representatives from NCAA Division III. Her three-year term will run from July 1, 2026 through July 1, 2029. 
 
"It is an honor to be elected by my peers to serve on the IWLCA Board of Directors," said Smith. "The board is a fantastic group of dedicated professionals, and I look forward to working with them and continuing to advance the game of women's lacrosse." 
 
No stranger to the IWLCA, Smith had served as the chair of the IWLCA Mentoring Committee since 2024 and was a member of the Mentoring Committee from 2018 through 2024. Previously this summer, Smith was selected to serve as a coach at the 2026 IWLCA Division III Senior All-Star Game. 
 
In addition to her work with the IWLCA, Smith also served as a NCAA Regional Advisory Committee member as well as a Site Representative for the Division I Championships at Notre Dame in 2024 and Navy in 2026. 
 
"I am excited for the opportunity to represent the Division III membership, and to advocate for and support fellow coaches in our IWLCA community," concluded Smith.
 
Smith recently wrapped up her second season at the helm of the Gators. Her Gators have earned six All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honors over the last two years, including the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year, Amelia Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa/North Allegheny).
