NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team sent athletes to three different meets this weekend at the University of Mount Union, Bucknell University, and Westminster College.

On Friday, Allegheny throwers competed in the hammer and javelin at Mount Union's John Homon Open. Then on Saturday, Cole Jooste (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair), Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth), and Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) ran in Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic, while the rest of the team entered the Westminster Invitational.

Second-year thrower Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) had a busy weekend, as he traveled to Mount Union and Westminster and participated in four different events. On Saturday, Anderson earned two top-10 finishes by placing sixth in the discus (38.66 meters) and ninth in the shot put (12.99 meters). He was one of three Gators to place in the javelin on Friday alongside Jonah Wells (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Township) and Alex Coccagna (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) in eighth and ninth, respectively.

At Bucknell, Biss achieved a personal record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. His time of 9:42.15 was more than 19 seconds quicker than his performance from the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational two weeks ago. Among the handful of PRs at Westminster was senior Patrick Sharp (Brighton, N.Y./Brighton), who also clocked a personal best in the steeplechase at 11:17.73.
