CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Allegheny men's track and field team opened up the outdoor portion of their 2025-26 season at the Vulcan Early Bird Invitational, hosted by California (Pa.), Saturday (March 21).
Cozmo Gallegos (Chino, Calif./Chino) recorded the best individual finish for the Gators. He finished as the runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 13.31 meters.
In the track events,
Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) recorded fifth-place finishes in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.06 and 22.83 seconds.
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) finished fourth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 16:12.64.
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) was fifth in the race with a time of 16:16.76.
Jordan Anderson (Attica, N.Y./Attica) finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.28 seconds.
In the throwing events,
Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) earned a trio of top-eight finishes. His best performance was in the discus, placing fourth with a throw of 40.74 meters. Anderson also placed sixth in both the shot put and hammer with tosses of 13.20 and 43.68 meters, respectively.
Carter Betz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) rounded out the Gators' top-eight finishes at the event as he took eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.25 meters.
