JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's golf team took home the team championship at Saint Francis University's Red Wolves Invitational, hosted by SFU at Sunnehanna Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

In the final tournament before next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships, the Gators earned a 15-shot victory over Saint Vincent College and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Allegheny carded rounds of 303 (+23) and 305 (+25), the third- and fourth-lowest scores of the tournament, for a 36-hole total of 608 (+48). Saint Vincent and Pitt-Greensburg tied for second place with matching scores of 623 (+63). 

All five Gators in attendance finished inside the top 20, and two placed inside the top three. Junior Mekayl Maajid (Lahore, Pakistan/Roots Ivy International) sat atop of the 59-man standings after the opening round with a 1-over 70. However, on Tuesday, he dropped back into second with an 8-over 78. He ended the day as the runner-up, three strokes behind Seth Tomalski of Pitt-Greensburg.

Sophomore Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was tied for eighth place following the first round, but climbed into a tie for third with a 151 (+11). He earned the team's only eagle and was one of five players in the tournament to score a three on the par-5 11th. 

Caleb Occhino (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park), Connor Bell (Montrose, Colo./Montrose), and Gasparo Porco (Butler, Pa./Knoch) each finished one shot behind each other while tying for 11th, 13th, and 17th place, respectively.

The first two rounds of the 2026-27 PAC Championships are scheduled for Monday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 13. The fall portion of the conference tournament will be held at the Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club in Warren, Ohio.
