Men's Golf Moves Into Second Place to Conclude PAC Fall Championships

WARREN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's golf climbed into second place during the second round of the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships Tuesday at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio.

The Gators matched Monday's cumulative 300 (+12), but used a strong team effort to surpass Washington and Jefferson College while keeping pace with first-place Saint Vincent College. Allegheny only trails SVC (597, +21) by three shots after 36 holes and has started to separate from third-place Saint Francis University (609, +33). W&J (611, +35) dropped from a tie for first into a two-way tie for fourth place with Grove City College.

Four of Allegheny's five golfers climbed the individual leaderboard. Three Gators now rank inside the top 10 and four are inside the top 20.

Yesterday's leader, sophomore Christopher Hoffmann (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), fell two spots into a tie for third place after shooting 78 (+6) on Tuesday. Hoffman sits just three strokes behind fall medalist Evan Bower of Saint Vincent, who carded a 70 (-2) for an even total of 144. Junior Mekayl Maajid (Lahore, Pakistan/Roots Ivy International) turned in the best second-round score on the team with a 1-over 73. That allowed him to jump 11 places into a tie for eighth. Senior Connor Bell (Montrose, Colo./Montrose), who fired a 2-over 74, also moved into the top 10.

This week's results will carry over into the spring half of the PAC Championships, with another 36 holes to be played at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio, in April.
