WARREN, Ohio -- Allegheny College's
Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) sits atop the leaderboard after the first 18 holes at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships at Avalon Lakes Golf Course on Monday.
Hoffman, last year's conference runner-up and the 2025-26 PAC Newcomer of the Year, leads the 55-man field and is the only player under par. He finished Monday's round with a 3-under 69 and holds a three-shot lead over Bethany College's Jude Smith. Hoffman, who had a team-high six birdies, began strong with eight consecutive holes at or below par. He also performed well on the longest holes at Avalon Lakes with birdies all four par-5s.
Thanks to Hoffman's remarkable start, the Gators sit just two shots shy of the lead in the team standings. Allegheny turned in a 300 (+12) and is in third place. Saint Vincent College and Washington and Jefferson College are tied for first with matching scores of 298 (+10). The Bearcats and Presidents both have at least three athletes in the top 10, while Allegheny's next three after Hoffman are all tied for 19th.
