MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's swimming and diving team opened the 2026-27 season with a 116-94 victory over Hiram College at Mellon Pool.
The Gators (1-0) earned seven wins in the swimming events and competed uncontested in both dives.
Sam Kohler (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) and
Christian Habusta (Erie, Pa./Fairview) led the way with two individual victories while also making up half of the first-place 200-yard medley relay team.
Kohler was first in the 100-yard butterfly (57.48 seconds) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.73). His IM win was a convincing one, as he beat Hiram's (0-1) Alex Curry by more than 15 seconds. On the other hand, Habusta narrowly beat Ethan O'Malley in a pair of close races in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle sprints.
