PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Four from the Allegheny College men's swimming and diving team were highlighted on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Swimmers and Divers to Watch list for the upcoming season.

Three of the four Gators named to the watchlist are returners from 2025-26: senior Christian Habusta (Erie, Pa./Fairview), junior Sam Kohler (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth), and sophomore Ryan Owen (Weirton, W.Va./Weir).

Last season, Kohler qualified for the "A" finals and placed seventh in both the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly races at the PAC Championships. Habusta was part of the team's sixth-place 400-yard medley relay and swam in the "B" finals in the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle. Owen qualified for the "B" finals and placed 13th and 11th in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races, respectively.

The Allegheny trio is joined by freshman Logan Byers (Oil City, Pa./Homeschool), who had a successful prep career competing for the Oil City YMCA.

In the PAC's preseason coaches' poll, the Gators were voted seventh overall in the conference. Allegheny earned 26 points, just two shy of Chatham University in sixth place.

Allegheny's season begins on Saturday, October 11, with a home meet at Mellon Pool against Hiram College at 1 p.m.
