DELAWARE, Ohio – The Allegheny men's track and field team continued their indoor season at the Ohio Wesleyan Team Challenge Saturday (Jan. 24).
The Gators competed against host Ohio Wesleyan as well as Oberlin, placing third with 57 points.
In the track events,
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) collected a win in the 800 meter run. The first-year runner crossed the finish line in 2:06.48. In addition to his win in the 800, Biss also placed third in the one mile run with a time of 4:33.17.
Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) carded a runner-up finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.56.
In the final track event of the evening,
Jordan Anderson (Attica, N.Y./Attica),
Cole Jooste (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair),
Ethan Palmer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks),
VJ Praylor (Rochester, N.Y./Vertus Charter) and Stewart finished second with a time of 2:37.05.
In the field events,
Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) also picked up an individual win for the Gators as he won the weight throw with a toss of 14.70 meters. He also took third in the shot put with a heave of 12.84 meters.
